Last Saturday, November 16th, the Metropolis Mall transported us to a world of enchantment and festive cheer with its grand Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The event, which drew a large crowd, officially kicked off Metropolis Mall’s holiday celebrations.

The evening’s rich program successfully captivated both young and old, offering a truly unforgettable festive experience. Our younger guests embarked on magical journeys through fairy tales narrated by Larnaca College’s undergraduate students. Meanwhile, Tommy Life transported us to Santa’s workshop, where Santa’s elves shared the Christmas spirit with us.

A particularly special moment was the scholarship award ceremony for the Metropolis Mall – UCLan Cyprus Scholarship Program. In a heartwarming atmosphere, the successful students received congratulations and their university scholarships.

Children’s choirs added rhythm and joy to the celebration as the Nareg Armenian School, the American Academy Larnaca Junior School, and the 66th Aradhippou Scouts treated us to unique Christmas carols, creating a festive ambiance.

The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the lighting of the impressive Christmas Tree. The Honourable Mayor of Larnaca, Mr. Andreas Vyras, in the presence of all MPs and other Mayors of the district, lit the tree, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. This moment marked the official start of the Christmas celebrations at the Metropolis Mall.

Another important aspect of the event was the support provided by our sponsors. Athienites Nuts energised us with their wide variety of unique nuts. Burger King, as a true friend of our young singers, offered vouchers for them to enjoy their favourite meals after their exciting performances. And of course, the well-known Paul’s took care of the catering, offering a variety of delicious options to satisfy all tastes. The contribution of all sponsors was crucial to the success of this unforgettable evening and we thank them wholeheartedly for their support!

The lighting ceremony was an excellent opportunity for everyone to come together, have fun, and experience the spirit of Christmas. The Metropolis Mall wants to thank everyone who participated and supported our event, and invites all friends and visitors of the Metropolis Mall to continue celebrating with us throughout the holiday season.
